The last few days have been good and relaxing. On Sunday we went to Pietermaritzburg to visit my friend Jacqui and her family. We had a lovely visit and we are so glad we took the time to spend with them. That evening we moved back in to Westville which is a suburb of Durban. This is where we began the visit here just over two weeks ago and it is where we will end. Yesterday we relaxed, did a bit of shopping and took it easy. Today we had a guide take us through the city of Durban which was time well spent. I did this last year when I was here but on this visit, Mike has hardly been able to look at the land around us when driving as he has had to focus all of his attention on the road. He has done so well with driving on the opposite side of the road and car but it really hasn't allowed him to have a mind wander for even a second.

Near the end of the tour, our guide asked us if we had tried Bunny Chow. It is very local food and it is commonly found on menus here in Durban. I know it doesn't have bunny in it so when he offered to buy us lunch, we took him up on it. We got the "1/4 Bunny" with rice and some sort of samosa type thing. With the large Indian population here in Durban, there is a great influence in the food and this was very obvious in Bunny Chow. It comes in a carved out mini loaf of bread and the filling is a combination of curry, beans, chicken or beef, and a lot of great taste. Absolutely wonderful!
Now we are on the wind down, having dinner with our lovely hosts here at the B&B, then finishing up some packing. Tomorrow it is time to head home and we couldn't want it more at this point. Even if we did just get and email saying our home has been hit with the stomach flu.

Omg,
I used to share the bunny chow with my friends when I lived in Pietermaritzburg!!! I miss this! Maybe I should make my version of it! I used to live in Northdale Pmburg.
